Renting a Car in Mexico
Renting a car in Mexico is easy but be aware of a few details: inspect the car carefully with your agent to mark every existing ding or scratch so you won’t be charged for it. Take pictures from various angles include the fuel guage. Accept all insurance; this is not the place to save on your vacation. Careful when riding scooters. The island can have lots of potholes and sand on the road which can be very dangerous on a scooter.
Gas Stations in Cozumel
If you are planning to go around the island, fill up before departing. There is a PEMEX gas station in the Downtown area, two PEMEX stations on the cross-island road as you leave town, and one PEMEX gas station in the southern hotel zone across the Puerta Maya Cruise Ship Pier on the west side of the island.
