As you enter Pancho’s Backyard, in fact a delightful garden courtyard, you’ll be welcomed by friendly waiters and aromas of delicious Mexican dishes that make your mouth water.
This is far from your typical Mexican restaurant. This is fine Mexican dining in a romantic, historic setting.
Restored by the island’s Morales family in the 1980’s, the building started life in the early 20th century as a warehouse for the island’s growing port. After later brief spells as offices and a hotel, it proudly opened its doors as a restaurant and welcomed the first diners in 1990.
Run by the same family today, Pancho’s Backyard continues to take pride in the highest standards of service and cuisine, not to mention some awesome margaritas. And all at sensible prices.
If you are looking for a delicious, relaxed, romantic dining experience, with some distinctive takes on traditional Mexican dishes, look no further than Pancho’s Backyard on Cozumel’s downtown waterfront.
